Fokko van Duin wrote: This can be caused by several things, but anyhow it's a communication failure, which can happen: I would be suprised if that was true on my pc. The motherboard is from asus, the serial connection is on that motherboard: http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=A7V8X-MX&langs=01 2. If the serial port can not handle 38400 baud properly (try lower speed), or I'll try that. Do I just need to change the speed in LCEdit+, or also in the windows 2000 settings ("apparaatbeheer" in dutch). 3. If Windows (PPP, or e.g. Palm) thinks your serial port can be used as modem, so it polls the port. I don't think this is the case, I'll check it. Most of the time it's item 1, especially on Notebooks where some manufacturers put in a low cost pseudo RS232 port. Try with a good high speed USB<->RS232 adapter (like the Keyspan USA19-QW). OK, or mayby a pci plug-in card with a serial connector on? thanks, Jan Van besien
