Subject[LCtalk] WinXP Blues #2 - LCedit+ software

Greetings to all you wonderous LANbox peoples,

I'm working with Kenny Pyatt who previously sent the following message:

To the smartest lanbox people around,

I just formated this box and installed Windows XP Pro and the latest windows updates. I then downloaded the latest version of LC Edit+ 3.2 and tried to run it from the folder on the Desktop. It opened but it crashes as soon as I go File->New Project. It also crashes as soon as I try to open a project.

I have rebooted many times and I have even deleted and re-downloaded the software. I have the LanBox-LCX (just opened the box :-)) but I have not been able to use it :-(.

What should I try? I have it working on my office machine with no problems (Windows XP Home addition) but I need it here.

Unfortunately, we're still having the same problem. I'm convinced it has to be a permissions problem but I can't seem to figure it out. It even closes when I try to run it as Administrator.

I've checked, double checked, and triple checked all and every security/permission setting that I can find and nothing seems to get it working. I've even looked throught the computers security policies and didn't find anything that would keep it from running (not to my knowledge anyway).

I've even tried it on another computer next to this one (Windows 2000 Pro) and it does the same thing.

I've done everything that I know to do, any ideas?

Thanks,
Jonathan
