I then downloaded the latest version of LC Edit+ 3.2 and tried to run it from the folder on the Desktop. It opened but it crashes as soon as I go File->New Project. It also crashes as soon as I try to open a project.

Are you sure you have privileges to open the files?

As you are now using XP Pro, there is normally an administrator and users accounts. I am not a XP expert, and LCedit+ should not crash, but XP pro can make usage very difficult if you are not aware that a XP user has limited privileges.

Try as administrator?
