Like Chris said it's best to install the driver before pluging in the device. Auto detect and install is great, but not allways perfect.

We advice in chapter 1 of the tutorial to put the correct (Win98 or Win2000/XP) on a floppy, and force Windows to manual install from floppy.

The bizarre thing is that the USB modem driver is already in Windows, it's from MS ;-) We don't install anything, but just try to tell Windows to use it's own (non-certified) driver. Strange world this Windows stuff. (I am a long time Mac user ;-)

I installed mine like this. (win2K)

step one: don't plug in the lan box, or if you do click cancel to get out of auto install.
step two: brows to the .inf file "LCedit+ 3.2W\Usbsetup\Win2000_XP\cdsusb.inf"
step three: right click on the cdsusb.inf and choose install (second option in the popup option menu)
step four: plug in the lanBox or reboot and it should auto install correctly now.

Thanks for this tip Hal, I can't test it here as we only have PCs with installed CDSUSB modem, but it seems to work.
