I have not seen much info on how to talk to the LanBox via TCP/IP though. I searched the archive and someone mentioned that it has a telnet interface, but I had no luck with that perhaps because I was trying port 32, and Michel Morin just mentioned port 777.

Is there any documentation that I'm just foolishly missing?

Well, once you know that you can connect with plain tcp (e.g. on linux using nc, NO telnet) to a LCX via tcp port 777, and supply a password, it's the same as for serial/USB.

The LanBox commands can be found in the LC+ reference manual, but to get an impression how to use those commands, do the following in LCedit+:

Via the tools menu, turn on debugging.
Via window menu, turn of AutoUpdate (to prevent huge amounts of debug text ;-).
Via window menu, open Streamwatcher.

Now see what happens when you do e.g. an "Update".

** NOT for normal lighting use, just for programmers **

BTW All commands are ASCII over tcp, but keep in mind that we are going to extend it with binary commands, and direct mixer i/o over UDP in order to distribute up to 3072 light channels over multiple universes. This also brings "Capture 3D" within reach of LanBox-LCX/LCE users ;-)

I hope this helps,
