I searched the archive and someone mentioned that it has a telnet interface, but I had no luck with that perhaps because I was trying port 32, and Michel Morin just mentioned port 777. Well, once you know that you can connect with plain tcp (e.g. on linux using nc, NO telnet) to a LCX via tcp port 777, and supply a password, it's the same as for serial/USB. The LanBox commands can be found in the LC+ reference manual, but to get an impression how to use those commands, do the following in LCedit+: Via the tools menu, turn on debugging. Via window menu, turn of AutoUpdate (to prevent huge amounts of debug text ;-). Via window menu, open Streamwatcher. Now see what happens when you do e.g. an "Update". ** NOT for normal lighting use, just for programmers ** BTW All commands are ASCII over tcp, but keep in mind that we are going to extend it with binary commands, and direct mixer i/o over UDP in order to distribute up to 3072 light channels over multiple universes. This also brings "Capture 3D" within reach of LanBox-LCX/LCE users ;-) I hope this helps, -- Fokko van Duin, Creators of the LanBox-LC CDS advanced technology bv, DMX lighting controller. http://www.cds.nl/ http://www.lanbox.com/ We are member of MIDI Manufacturers Association, MMA
