With a LanBox-LCX you can control these devices via MIDI or DMX. There are many MIDI controllable devices, but also DMX controlled DVD and shutter are on the market. If you use a show control program on a computer you can control most devices (including LanBox) via serial ports. - Also, for the sound control, can I send MIDI timecode / commands to control a sequencer playing back a multitrack composition on another computer. You can not make timecode (well you can make it, but if it's accurate enough is doubtable), but you can send MIDI messages. In the tutorial is a small example of controlling a digital recorder with MMC (MIDI Machine Control) commands.
