Among the several possible actions that come with a cuestep (goto, show previous, loop, check digital input, ...) I would like to add one more: "execute a command". I mean a command on my computer (the ones you normaly execute in a shell).

You missed a tiny little detail: step actions are executed by the LanBox, not by your computer :-)

I must say that I missed that detail indeed ;-)

But still.. In some way or another the software is "aware" of the current cue-step. When "follow layer A" is on, the software shows the current cue-step. And in the control window, the "hold" and "fade" bars do show the current status of the "fade-process". So it might still be possible to let the software execute "commands on the computer".

I know that it is more logic to let the lanbox execute everything that it is told, but I am wondering if what I suggest is difficult or not. I might be missing other things as well :)

What you want is still possible, but will require something a bit more elaborate.. for example you can have the LanBox write some command to the MIDI out port, and then run something on your computer that triggers on it (written in Max for example)

Yes indeed.. that should be possible. But I find my suggestion more user-friendly (but maybe less programmers-friendly).

thanks for the answers,
