Would it be possible to get the LanBox to send an IP or UDP message in a similar way to sending MIDI messages?

That's a difficult one. The problem is that the destination must be setup somewhere, and worse, for tcp the LanBox must built-up a connection.

On the other hand we have planned new firmware for this year which supports UDP broadcasts and point to point (for DMX distribution, Capture 3D visualization, etc ), and also UDP receive. This way you can also pickup e.g. the analog inputs of a LCX via Ethernet, or certain layers.

Even a simple 1 byte message could be caught on a PC/Mac and used for all kinds of controls...

What kind of messages do you think of? Maybe there is already a solution coming ;-)
