I know there -was- poor documentation, but the new tutorial has a
separate chapter about the fixture library and I found in the note:

the file, so the filename can be anything. Note: New and duplicate
fixture definition files can -only- be made by the library editor, as
it generates a new unique ID. Never change the name or duplicate the
files directly, as the inside ID will not be correctly anymore, and
can lead to loss of fixture definitions."
Does this explains it?
Yes it does - thanks. I made these fixtures up about a year ago -
before the tutorial came out! Now the $64 question - is there an easy
way to hack the ID number? Otherwise I will have to enter about 150
presets all over again!
