I really would like to be able to control my Lanbox from WMax, but the existing objects are Macintosh specific.

You -can- use the serial and MIDI objects of wMAX, or even better our serial and MIDI example for MacOS (not xMAX) -do- work here on WinXP.

But I have to admit that lately, when I switched from LCM to LCX, I wasn't too happy with the new objects for Max. When I was working with a LCM with LCedit II firmware, it was really possible to work as I like, meaning without cues or anything, but sending directly DMX value to the channels. I usually work with not too many channels, but they are moving all the time, using a lot of random and things like this.

It's still possible, look at the sliders in our example

With the new firmware, and then the new objects, it's not really possible anymore. For instance, setting all channels at a certain level takes quite sometime, because you have to refresh the values channel by channel. When working with LCedit, this problem doesn't exist.

??? You try to set channels on a layer which also runs a cue, that's not what you want. Use an unused layer just for MAX channel control.

So my asking would be this, an object for WMax that allows sending a lot of channels at the same time (if it's possible, but it was in the past, so why wouldn't).

Well we have plans to make a patch (no external) to make just setting channels easier.

And finally, because Christmas is approaching, if this object, or a different one, could allow to use the analog inputs for it's own purpose (I mean, not related to the light, but to be used as controller in WMax), it would really feel like Christmas.

Also, this is already possible, but you need to make a patch for it. Once we have released LCedit v3.1, I make some examples which also run on mMax ;-).

But first releasing LCedit+ v3.1 ;-)
