Yes, you can read out the DMX-in buffer on command. Use command ChannelReadData (page 12 of reference) with layer/engine # 252

So * CDFC 01 D6 # reads from channel 1, 214 channels in 8 bit mode. or
   * CDFC 0001 D6 # the same but now in 16 bit address mode.
