is it normal that the small Free Mem window often changes orange? when does it change and what does it mean? when get it dangerous for the right function oft the LanBox?

It means the communication between your computer and box is NOT good!! Check that your serial port is not used by other programs (like Palm Desktop). BTW What computer and OS?



and what does the small button with the red arrow in the same line as the strobe button mean?

You mean the shutter control of the 1220? If you click on it the DMX value goes to 251, which is fixture reset according Martin's manual ;-)
