It seems that the LanBox may be a little too high end for for the Chauvet equipment. Regardless of this we have to find a work around due to the expense of changing out the equipment. I would appreciate any assistance in solving these problems. Mark, I have two solutions (if it is indeed the problem that the Chauvet packs can not handle full speed DMX-512). A. Ask Chauvet to solve these bugs, DMX-512 equipment should always be able to handle full speed DMX! Also, it should never turn lamps off when loosing DMX, nor going "tilt" with miss read DMX. B. Use a LanBox-LCM (with relaxed DMX timing v1.09) as DMX controller, and use the LCX as show controller (I believe you use several analog inputs, and use MMC to control digital recorder). You can control the LCM via the MIDI output of the LCX. This concept is maybe not so bad at all, as you get a nice separation between lighting cues, and the total show control ;-) Note: Ask Chauvet how many stop bits they need (the LCM v1.09 sends 7 stop bits), to be sure it will work. BTW If anybody has experience with Chauvet dimmer/switch packs on this list, please let us know.
