Hi Nicholas,

The phone port in the back of your iBook is for the modem, and not for AppleTalk. The Phone connectors on the LanBox are for "PhoneNet", an old method of Appletalk networking that isn't supported by any Macs in the last few years.

To connect a Lanbox LC to an iBook, you need to get a USB/Serial adapter. The LCM and LCX have direct USB connections and have no need for an adapter.
