No, you did not click "Add"? The v option-enter is only to activate the used channels (the DMX values becomes black, instead of grey). Please download LCedit+ v3.03, and read the description how to make simple cues in the archive at:

I also have a couple of other questions. I am using a LanBox LC with LCedit II v1.3.3 and LCedit+ 3.0.2 on an iBook 600 under 9.2.2.

Please -do not- mix LCII and LC+ programs! Once the firmware in the box is upgraded to LC+, do not use old LCeditII, LCtools, or CDS devices in chooser!.


I connect to the LC with an Asantetalk bridge. I can't seem to make this configuration work under OS X 10.2 with LCedit+ 3.0.2X. When I try to connect with the LanBox, it does not show up under Appletalk.

You can't use AppleTalk in OS X, as Apple did only implement a partial AppleTalk (only for printers and file servers).


I know that the Asantetalk does not pass TCP/IP packets, so I'm stuck with Appletalk.
I also have found that using airport can be very handy, especially when wanting to program a show from the center of the house and when the musicians never seem to be around when you want to set their solo positions. However I am running into a couple of glitches. When editing in 9 with LCedit II, the mouse will freeze for a few seconds several times a minute as I grab an element in the fixture window. My movements when frozen are saved in the buffer and execute all at once when the mouse is free again. I have not experienced this since having to use a IIci to run a show as a backup. Sometimes I can't upload or download scenes to/from the Lanbox either.

The problem is that Apple dropped AppleTalk support, so either you have to use serial with your LC, or buy a LCX, and use tcp/ip. LCedit+ v3.03 is still working correctly in MacOS 9 with AppleTalk though, but NOT in Classic mode on OS X.


Another issue I have run across is when I had the pleasure of using some HES Cyberlights. I don't know what version they were, but LCedit II was able to handle them with no problems until the end of the night. We needed to power down the Cybers, but the lamps were still struck and I couldn't turn them off from LCedit. The last channel is supposed to accomplish this by transmitting the value 128, I was not able to shut it down this way. I get similar results when using the control channel for the HES Technobeam. I suppose that this is a HES issue, but I was wondering if anyone might have a solution to this one. At several hundred dollars per lamp, the owner of the cyberlights was not pleased to say the least, although I didn't fry any.

From what I have heard, is that you need to set some other channel(s) also to a certain value. This is to prevent accidental turning off your lamps. From High-End DMX table: "After choosing a control channel value, set the Shutter channel to "O" to access the Control channel settings."
