I have been using LCedit II for a few years now. It has become very comfortable for me and has done all that I have asked of it. However, I have a new project coming up and I'd like to start using LCedit+. I have not been able to follow the directions in the manual successfully. I have created fixtures and created a scene in the edit layer. I can get the lights the way I want them. I hit append and the go field increments. I then set the next scene, but I can't get the other scene to come up again. I can't seem to access any stored scenes. How do I play them back?.

Most common errors made are that with LCedit+ you need to create a cuelist, then set/activate -all- lights (type v then option-enter to activate all selected fixtures), then click Add button. Now hit space bar (next step) and repeat.

Creating a cuelist is done by typing a number of an unused cuelist number, and then click the edit button. A cuelist is like the old "scene", except that it can hold up to 99 steps. Each step -can- hold also a scene.

A LC+ scene is different from what you are used to. A LC+ scene holds a variable number of light channels, instead of 50/150/250 channels on the LCII. Although it's a bit more complicated, it has the advantage that different scenes can be used at the same time, each running in it's own layer *engine). This way you can have a moving head sweep running in one layer, while you can change the color of these fixtures by hand (or with a color chase) in another layer. LCII was good for very simple applications, but with LC+ you can build very complex shows.

As we know that building cues is a bit complex in LCedit+, we have worked hard to improve it. LCedit+ v3.1, which is now in beta test, will make creating/editing cues a snap, as all channels -and- steps of a cuelist can be edited in a spreadsheet like window called the cuelist editor.

For current LCedit+ v3.03 see also the description how to make simple cues in the archive at:
