SubjectRe: LCM Questions - New User

Hi Chris -

I can set up steps that hold indefinitely?

Set to "hold for ever"

What is the easiest way to trigger each one?

If using MIDI, use a Patch Change to fire the cue initially and then "Go Next Cue" (via Bank 127 or a controller code) to move to the next cue. A cue could be an entire cuelist, or up until the next "hold forever" within the same cuelist.

in LCEdit, let's say a moving head panning left and right...can I just set up an infinite repeat of say 1.04 through 1.08, triggering 1.04 and the LCM automatically knowing to go through the other steps in that little pattern?

Yes, just at 1.09, put a "go .04" and it will loop forever until you call another cue.

Basically, when triggering midi, are all the properties set up in LCEDIT still acknowledged?

Whatever you have stored in the cuelist.

The only midi implementation help I could find was the LC+ Reference manual...I did not understand at all how Controller 20 with a value of 1 followed by Controller 52 with a value of 72 equals Cue 200????

Use the Patch Changes instead. Patch 52 = Cue 52. If you get into Cues higher than 127, then you need to use Bank Select, but still much easier to calculate.

What MIDI sequencer are you using?

I just want to go >> Run Cue 1 step 1, now run step 2, now run step 3, now run the 4-8 repeating loop, now run step 9...etc..

Yep, no problem! Again, just use MIDI Patch Changes instead... Much easier from a sequencer.

Let me know if you need additional help. We do huge shows using MIDI and the LanBox, along with our MidiLite products.
