Hey Chris - You can never underestimate the ability of an idiot like me to screw something up very badly!! :-) You certainly aren't an idiot but just fighting the learning curve (sometimes the hard way!). When triggering via MIDI they would not run! Only the first step. Did you make sure that layer was in the chase mode you wanted? The chase mode is not stored as part of the cue UNLESS you put in a step that puts it into that mode. It erased all the cues on the computer too. No, I don't think it erased them... You just never backed up to the computer. All of the data is stored in the LanBox itself. There is a Back-up and Restore function in LCedit to save/load from the computer hard drive. But I thought LCEdit kept all the cues in my .lcp file? No, it doesn't. It turns out the the LCM will not automatically run the chases as intended if you save the file and to the lanbox with the "Ed" button enaged. It seems to leave the box in edit mode?? Ah. If you left a layer in edit mode, things won't run like in "Run" mode! Also, that if you do a "Save LanBox Data" that if the LanBox is powered down and then powered back up, things will return EXACTLY in the state they were in when you did the Save! That includes the current cue, layer status, etc. That indeed is a feature, since you can set things the way you want for power-up, including having cues automatically starting on power up, etc. Secondly, I think that instead of a backup/restore function, the LCEdit program should automatically keep all the settings of the Lanbox on the hard drive in a file. Similar to the backup files, but automatic in nature...it could even create a new file with each save so you could go back in time? The problem here is the large amount of data which would have to be transferred between the LanBox and the computer. Also, when would it do this? When quitting LCedit or ??? I agree that it might be nice that when quitting LCedit, maybe it gave an option to Back-up your data to the computer. Jon
