Hello All: I am from the theme park industry and would like to give my take on this. DMX 512 is a very capable and versatile protocol for many things but NOT anything that could potentially harm people or property. DMX 512 is a "ONE Way" Communication protocol and is buy definition a single point failure since it does not know if the intended device received the command or if it is safe to act on the command. I have worked extensively with "Life Safety" critical equipment and would be happy to assist you in getting this done.
