Hi!

Infact , any thing which compromises the safty of human (or animal!) lives due to failure to recieve and interpret DMX512 correctly, is prohibited."

This also -INCLUDES- flamethrowers!
This is a bit of smart ass / dumb ass (take your pick) reply, but the pan & tilt movement of a flame thrower doesn't have to compromise the safety of human life or health.

As always when working with potential hazardous material (including electricity for that matter) your safety regulations should be based on a worst case scenario. What are the risks if -everything- does go wrong. When controlling pan & tilt by DMX you run the risk of incorrect movement. If incorrect movement endangers health / life: don't use DMX for this.

However if at all possible you will want to create a situation in which no one is ever inside the action radius of a flame thrower when it is ignited, however you control it. For -triggering- (actually igniting the flames) you should never use DMX, as pointed out in previous posts. Using DMX for a fireworks show is prohibited for the same reason.

Greetings,

Jorg
