Hi! Does anybody know a DMX to servocontroler/steppermotor that I can buy, or even better, a place where they sell a robot like Pan/Tilt servo with DMX interface? You wrote that a scan is not strong enough, I gather you tried to mount your flamethrower in a moving mirror fixture instead of the mirror or something like that? Anyway, you might want to take a look at devices like Compulite's MY yoke's (http://www.compulite.com/compulite/yokes.htm). These are seperate dmx controlled yokes intended for mounting a conventional fixture in, and thus making it an automated moving fixture. I have no idea what a flame thrower weighs but yokes are available for 2kW fresnell spots and the like (heavy stuff), so a weight of about 50 kg should be possible. BTW: there are other manufacturers that make seperate yokes, it's just that Compulite was the first to spring to mind. Mounting your flamethrower on the yoke and ensuring safe operation is probably going to be the tricky part. I'm into theater lighting, but the film & tv people on this list might be able to suggest some more heavy duty yokes since they use lots of many-kW fixtures, and perhaps there are similar solutions available for fixtures like that? Greetings, Jorg Schellekens
