Almost forgot about the gain.. you can do that too by using a layer in transparency mode set on the origin point.

This means you'd need three layer to make an effect (pattern layer in copy, gain layer in transparent, origin layer in add) but luckily the LCX supports up to 31 layers, which should be enough ;)
