Hmmm, I'm not convinced this is the case. I see the "shape" (or "pattern" as you call it) modulating one or more DMX channels to produce, say, a circle on the floor. The "gain" of the modulation would determine the size. The source DMX value (the one displayed by LCEdit) would define the origin. To do this in LCEdit would require creating a sequence of steps that would map the progress of the shape.
