SubjectMoving lights support
FromDavid Raison

Hi all,

A while ago the idea of native support for moving light patterns/shape support was discussed and discarded due to the lack of space/power in the LanBox-LC.  However, there is now the LanBox-LCX!  Are there any plans to implement native shape support?

FWIW I envisage a simple scheme where the user can define a "list of deltas (-128 > x > +127)" that plot the locus of the required shape over time. For most shapes 64 or so steps would be sufficient. For 2D shapes a list with two deltas per step would be need to be defined.

A list can then be associated with a channel (post mix / pre fade?) such that the channel value has the delta added to it. The active step is moved on (wrapping when it gets to the end) periodically dependant on the required shape speed.

Thus a colour scroll could be implemented by attaching a shape list to a colour channel, or a circle by attaching a 2D shape list to the pan and tilt channels.

Any thoughts?

BTW I don't have an LCX yet, just a plain LC. This sort of enhancement would be just the excuse I need to upgrade :-)

Rgds.
