Hello all,

LED lighting the light of the future. They are great, BUT.
I have done research on LED lights to find a brand to sell on my lighting web site. Here is what I have found out.

Have you seen all the uses so far for LED lights? Traffic lights, railroad crossing lights, runway lighting, under water fountain lighting, MR-16 size lamps with LED's, street light inserts, look at the jumbo screens that use LED's for pixels to make very large screens to show moving video, check out Las Vegas there are many of this type of displays along the strip, found a very cool moving yoke wash fixture that uses LED's, and others.

LED lights or fixtures (altman has a new par can LED fixture) are expensive. Not as bright as a par lamp BUT they are getting closer. Some good things about LED's is the life, estimated at 100,000 hours. You can produce any color you want which saves you from having to cut and install gels. Use much less power, much much less heat which saves on the cooling bill. You can get the look of neon with out the neon cost and safety issues. I just read an article about a Wendys restaurant that used LED's to light the top edge of the building instead of using neon.

LED's will someday replace many of the theater lighting fixtures we use today as the super bright LED's are made and the price comes down.

What do you think?
