SubjectLanbox-LCM: Palm support & split fading

Hi-

1.
I have tried to connect my Lanbox LCM to a Palm III using a serial cradle and a serial male-male plug to make this connection. The LcEdit for Palm is unable to detect the LanBox. Am i correct in thinking that the current version of the LcEdit for Palm OS only works with the Lanbox-LC or is there another problem with this connection? If  the connection of an LCM to a Palm device is not supported at this moment, will it be supported in the future?

2.
The workaround for making split fades is still a bit confusing to me at this moment. I know how to make a kind of a split fade by creating two cues, and putting the first one on hold for a few seconds while fading in/out, after which the the next fade is triggered by the second cue, and the first fade can still continue running.

When setting the timing for a cue it is possible to tick the 'split' box. However the workaround described above seems to work, even if the 'split' is not selected. What exactly does the 'split' function do? (this probably doesn't make a difference, but i'm using LcEdit for Windows)

Is there a way to archieve a split fade like you can do on a 'theatre style' console: when i hit Go both the fade in and the fade out start at exactly that moment, but for example the fading out takes longer than the fading in.
When i try to achieve this by making two cues and setting the first one to 'hold for 0.0s' and giving it a fade in of 8s (example), while setting the second cue to 'hold for ever' and giving it a fade out of 30s, the fade in happens in 0.0s. Is this a legitimate way of trying to make a split fade consisting of a fade in and a fade out that start at the same time?
