As it seems to be difficult to start with LCedit+ for new users with theatre background, I made a quick start how to create simple cues for theatre applications: Remember cues are stored in cuelists, there can be up to 99 cues (steps) in one cuelist, and there can be up to 999 lists. To create new cues (and a new cuelist): 1. Select ALL fixtures on the stage. 2. Select the top layer A (delete the other layers if it's confuses you). 3. Type in the Go field the cuelist number you want to create, say 10. 4. Click the Edit button, so it's now in edit mode. 5. Set -all- used channels to the light values for your first cue (all DMX values of the channels should be black numbers, not grey). 6. If the lights are ok, click the Append button, cue 10.1 is now made. 7. This cue has a hold -and- crossfade time of 3sec, to change it: a. Click on text line with the fade and hold time in it, a dialog appears. b. Change hold time to "ever" (theatre non linked cues), and fade time to 5.1s. c. Close dialog and click the Replace button. 8. change your lights for next cue. 9. Click again the Add button, Cue 10.2 is created (with hold for ever and Xfade 5.1s). Repeat 8&9 for up to 99 cues. You can can check/correct your made cues by using the Next/Previous buttons, or type e.g. .5 (dot 5) and click the Go button to jump to cue 10.5. Notes: 1. If you change an existing cue, the big status line on top of the control window becomes red, after storing (replace, add or insert) it's green. 2. If you have made your cues, do a "Save LanBox Data" (Tools Menu) in order to burn your cues (and layer settings) into the flash Memory of the box (LCX & LCM). 3. For cues with a "hold for ever" there is no need to switch off the edit mode and let the sequencer run. But if steps (cues) should go automatically to next cue after some hold time, you must turn off the edit button. 4. Your created cues can run or edited in -any- layer, so cuelists are not bound to a certain layer! I hope this helps;-)
