The LanBox is used for its ability to control DMX fixtures by means of sending LCM commands via the serial interface. Cue lists are not used, because I want to be sure that both movie and fixtures keep running in sync.Better use cues (set hold time to "ever"), as it responds very fast (<50mS) to your serial commands! The use of cues also creates the possibility to sync small chases or fading cues to your video. Well, it works perfectly for about two hours... After that, some fixtures seem to be missing commands. The application (and the LanBox) control(s) 4 gobos (channels 1, 10, 20 and 30), 1 4-dimmerpack (basechannel 40) and 1 4-switchpack (basechannel 50). After about two hours, the gobos on channels 1 and 10 regularly miss commands, and so do one or two fixtures connected to the dimmer and switchpacks.I hope you send a setchannel command including all your channels in -one- command, and then wait for the response character (> or ?) from the LanBox. The LanBox processes a command every 50mS, so if you send many very small commands without checking the response, it could lead to loss of commands once the buffer is full. BTW LCedit sends large single commands when moving a control wheel (it grabs all active channels and creates a single command from it). I have checked the serial connection with the use of a port monitor and concluded that there was no problem there, i.e. no delay or lost LCM commands. What could be the cause of this phenomenon?Probably buffer overflow in the LCM, although it's quit big >2000 bytes. I tried to get the same problem here by continuous moving the intensity wheel of a large group, but it keeps working here.
