Hello, I have made a ShowControl application which allows me to control fixtures based on certain events in a movie (mpeg/avi). The LanBox is used for its ability to control DMX fixtures by means of sending LCM commands via the serial interface. Cue lists are not used, because I want to be sure that both movie and fixtures keep running in sync. So each time the movie is played, the ShowControl application sends the LCM commands to the LanBox which in turn controls the DMX fixtures. Seems like a bit of overkill, but it works :) Well, it works perfectly for about two hours... After that, some fixtures seem to be missing commands. The application (and the LanBox) control(s) 4 gobos (channels 1, 10, 20 and 30), 1 4-dimmerpack (basechannel 40) and 1 4-switchpack (basechannel 50). After about two hours, the gobos on channels 1 and 10 regularly miss commands, and so do one or two fixtures connected to the dimmer and switchpacks. I have checked the serial connection with the use of a port monitor and concluded that there was no problem there, i.e. no delay or lost LCM commands. What could be the cause of this phenomenon? I have to admit that I am quite a DMX nitwit, so there might also be a problem there. For example, the manual of the gobos contains a section about connecting the fixtures to a DMX chain and using a terminator. Unfortunately, I did not have a terminator available at that time, so just tried running the application without it and it worked fine. But maybe someone on here can tell me if the absence of a terminator can cause this kind of problem in the long run. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peter van der Mespel
