I really don't have enough of a background with this box to have a feel for what is wrong, and it's just getting frustrating. There's nothing wrong, the demo.lanbox.com is also a Lanbox-LCX just as you have, there is no difference. It's responding 63 (a question mark) as it can't do that command. Most likely you selected a layer which is not in your box activated? Check with LCedit (use LCedit just as a monitor on another Mac/PC) which layers are there, or erase the box so it's fresh with layer A-E. Considering I do not plan on downloading programs to the box, and just want it for real time control of servos and lights based on sensor inputs, does anyone have the simplest patch possible that will work for the lcx box and max through tcp/ip, that i can later extend for my uses to multiple channels and things? i really don't have too much time to get all this set up, and it's not working! Our MAX tcp/ip example is very simple, but the LanBox-LCX is much more then just a tcp/ip i/o box, so it needs some setup. [A side question- I read in some part of some letter from this list's archives, that the box will only output like around 10 frames of dmx data per second.. is that true? No, all boxes are nowadays 20 frames/sec. I am controlling movement of servos that need to react fast and i'm worried that if i for example want them to move from extreme to extreme in like one second, that the motion might be very jittery.]Are you going to control the servos directly via DMX? In the DMX world you send a new 16 bit position to a fixture, so the fixture uP can drive the servos in a smart way. Extreme fast will never be jittery, and very slow movements are interpolated (micro stepping) by the fixture's uP.
