I just received a Lanbox-LCX and upgraded the firmware to the version in LC-edit+
v3.01.  I plan to use it in conjunction with a more traditional controller because relatively
unskilled persons need to control our lighting.  What is unclear is how to merge the
DMX from the Colortran console with the DMX from the Lanbox.  I want to be able to
manually raise a fader on the Colortran, yet control my Studio spots with the LCX and
have both commands sent out over the system. I know that the DMX-in is working as I can see it on the Monitor window.  What am I
missing?
Well, in order to do that you need to setup a few things:
In Global Settings (DMX tab):
 1. Set the used DMX range of the Colortran, say 1-50.
 2. Set light channels to which it should be mapped, say also 1-50 (it's already set by default).
 3. Set the destination layer, use the top layer (e.g. A).

On the stage place single dimmer fixtures on the channels which should be used from the Colortran. Now make a group of these fixtures, and select this group.

On the control panel select the top layer (A) and type v enter. This last action activates all channels of a group, but you can also selective enable a channel by selecting the DMX field and hit return. (an active channel has black DMX values, while grey is inactive. Only active channels are overwritten by the Colortran).

You will notice that from now on you can't change the DMX values of the activated channels in the top layer anymore, as they are overwritten by the Colortran.

Note: If you do a "Save LanBox Date" after this initial setup, it will be restored after power-up.

So in short:
1. Map the used DMX-in channels into LCX light channels of a destination (top) layer.
2. Activate those channels in the destination layer, which should be controlled by the external desk.
