"One vibrational white rose is on the floor, and the ideal plan is building a wooden floor to hide the structure of vibrational motor. There are 24 tungsten lamps on the ceiling, 12 cool colors, 12 warm colors. All the lights are controlled with the LCX controller and 788LD+ dimmers. Sending messages from Max/MSP to DMX controller can change the brightness of 24 lights. The white rose vibrates 1,600-1,800 times per minutes, and at the same time the brightness of lights will change faster and faster.  I try to combine different sense of time together in this work."

"The sigh of scraping to larger, more and bigger than more. Blinded by hunger, at the expense of friendships, people and nature. It's a real art to keep that which began with enthusiasm and naivety, in harmony with yourself. To put everything in motion is already a real challenge. Once that is running and you start to get used to this advantage it is difficult to keep it like this. Stagnation means decline, that's what we all know."

Carl Unander-Scharin | Ombra Mai Fu - Interactive Tree

Product involved: LanBox-LCX. Check Youtube for more info…

"This sensual tree, built of copper, reacts on the closeness of the audience. When the audience approach, the tree performs the Largo by Handel with its trembling loud-speaker-leafs. In this aria, Xerxes gives voice to this love for a tree that allows him to seek refuge in its shadow."
