Hello everybody,

We just finished a brand new batch of LanBox-LCX controllers and we can ship these now. The housing is still made of thick aluminium so we still have an indestructible product, but we have made some changes. We decided to make our own extrusion mould so it would be easy for us to incorporate some convenient features. We are offering two extra accessories kits for the LanBox-LCX. First is a DIN-rail mount kit so you can easily position your LanBox on a standard rail, either in a vertical or horizontal position. Also, we have a truss connection kit so you can secure your LanBox to any 50mm or 2" tube. You can buy these directly from our webstore.

As you have probably seen, we are also working on the visual identity of our company, website and products. Also, we already have implemented more languages in this website. We will be working on this for the next few weeks and we should be completely ready with this before the exhibition in Frankfurt at the end of May.

I would also like to put our new reference manual in the spotlight. Wouter has been working for almost a full month on this document and now we have a brand new and comprehensive reference manual. You can use this manual if you want to control or fully program our LanBox-LCX using many other applications like Max/MSP, Crestron or AMX systems other then our LCEdit using TCP commands. If you require any assistance please let us know, we can always assist you if necessary. Our next mission is to rewrite the LCEdit manual and to add some useful youtube tutorials.

Best regards,
Eric

Hello Everybody,

Here we are, just arrived in 2012! We have had a couple of very interesting months and now, having everything organized again, we are ready for the new year. First of all, I am sorry that it took such a long time to release the OSX Lion version of LCedit and i'm afraid it is not completely finished yet.... However you can download a test version from our website, version 3.7.0a for Mac OSX Lion is online now. It works, but Art-Net is not yet implemented. The big issue here is not the actual writing of the software, but to get a proper version control in place and to organize many years of several software versions. But, all is ok now, we have an excellent version control in place so we should be able to go from this alpha version to a final version for Mac and Windows in no time. Thank you all for your patience.

Some more news... We will have a booth at the Pro Light and Sound exhibition in Frankfurt this year. The exhibition dates are March 21 to 24 and you are all most welcome to visit us. We are designing a booth that shows many of the solutions you can create with a LanBox. Pixel-mapping, RS-232 control, Analogue inputs, MIDI control, Lights and so on are demonstrated in a number of real world setups for you to try. Of course our staff will be there to answer all you technical and non technical questions.

Last but not least... We will also unveil two brand new products at the exhibition in Frankfurt. We are working very hard right now to develop these products and I will tell about it a bit more in the next coming months....

All the best for 2012!

Best regards,
Eric

Dear reader,

It has been a very eventful few weeks. Our site has been off line for a while and we are back with a new site. My name is Eric and I am the eldest son of the creator of LanBox, my father Fokko. I wish to take this opportunity to tell you what has happened.

In 1996 Fokko sold CDS electronics, a company he had founded with his wife Marja. Since then he focused all his energies on developing new products in his new company CDS advanced technology. I was 17 at the time and went to college at Technical University, Delft. We occasionally discussed shared interests such as various control systems for a variety of applications. Always driven to create solutions Fokko developed a new product: the LanBox-LC. Over a period of fifteen years he developed the LanBox into what it is now, the stand-alone light controller used all over the world.

Last week Fokko, creator and developer of the LanBox controller and 788 dimmer and founder of CDS advanced technology bv, died at age 62 from complications associated with his illness.

788-LD+ with RDM released

The 788-LD+ is a heavy duty compact quad 5 Amp dimmer pack, which complies to "isolated DMX512-A". With the new firmware v5, the 788-LD+ has ANSI E1.20 RDM support. This means that with a suited RDM controller, you can configure the pack (start DMX address, 8/16 bit personality, dim/switch channel personalities, etc.) from a distance location. Even the triac temperatures, and overloads can be seen on your (e.g. Enttec or AL) RDM controller. So, now you can put your dimmer near the lamps, and don't need to climb anymore to set the DMX start address!

LCedit+ v3.4 released

Most new LCedit+ features have to do with time/MTC action, and theatre applications. It's now e.g. possible to sync to MTC (or SMPTE) or real time. For theatre applications we added e.g. percent views, "soft" reset, and "soft" back.

In order to support the realtime and MTC clocks in the LanBox, LCedit's global setting are extended with several settings.

Also included is the newest firmware v2.06 for the LanBox-LCX, LCE & LCM, newest MAX-MSP externals with examples (incl Jitter Video2DMX), and Isadora video to DMX example.
